What we are
Southerly Systems is an engineering studio in Cheltenham, in Melbourne's bayside suburbs. We design and build a complete nurse-call system for hospitals and aged care and video analytics that run on a customer's own hardware — and we take on firmware, protocol and integration work for others. Our Shopify apps for local retailers are published as Gust by Southerly.
How we're organised
Southerly is part of the Peninsula Smart Care group, whose engineers have installed and maintained nurse-call, CCTV and security systems in Victorian hospitals since 2014 — that work is where most of these products began. Southerly is the group's manufacturer and developer. We don't install: accredited partners do, Peninsula Smart Care being the first.
What we believe
- A hospital should be able to replace a call system without a cutover weekend.
- Video analytics shouldn't require uploading a hospital's footage to someone else's cloud.
- Status pills should be honest. If it's a pilot, it says pilot.
- Legacy systems deserve to be understood before they're replaced.
