Stage 1 — see
The Ward Gateway connects to the legacy controller's data feed, read-only, and immediately gives the hospital what it never had: live status across wards, response-time reports, uptime evidence, and calls on the clinical messaging platform. Nothing on the certified call system changes.
Stage 2 — control
Edge Nodes go onto the wards. They drive the existing displays and over-door lights, add the audio mute everyone has wanted, supervise the controller's fault contacts and program legacy displays and modules from a site map over the network. The Programmer keeps legacy call points maintainable in the meantime.
Stage 3 — replace
Rooms move to Southerly call points and light relays as budget and access allow — a board swap in the existing housing, a bus address, done. Each converted room reports to the Edge Node; unconverted rooms keep working on the legacy controller. When the last room moves, the legacy controller is switched off and nobody noticed a cutover.
What stays true at every stage
- The certified call path is never interrupted.
- Reports cover converted and unconverted rooms alike.
- Every component has a model code, a datasheet and a status.
Who does the work
Accredited Southerly partners install and maintain the system and hold the service agreement; Southerly provides manufacturer support and engineering escalation.
